Winter beach textures

When I saw this mesh in the dunes of Cape Cod beach I knew it would make a great Shadow Sunday shot.  The winter beach is pretty colorless so I turned the image into black and white to emphasis the texture.

This snow fence offers a functional style, to keep the erosion in the eroding Cape to a minimum. Yet, the mesh form offers an artistic effect in its rich shadow. The starkness of grass and mesh seems to be richer than we imagined. I love the Cape, in all seasons!

Beautiful, for a second I thought it was a close up of some kind of snake skin!

A great shadow shot indeed! I love it! Ralph is right, it is very artistic and the grass and mesh are perfect! Hope you have a great weekend!

Yes indeed it does make a great texture and shadow shot. Strong and crisp shadows too. I love it.

this is such an interesting shot! so much of what we have on the beaches here (pacific nw) is still green - minus the grasses. great composition!
