Red and White by Quiltworks
This photo was taken a couple of days ago when we had our first snow - about an inch of fluffy light snow! This was a preparation for what is to come today. The current predictions are for well over a foot of snow!

Nothing cheers up a room more than a vase with bright lovely flowers! I created this fiber artwork on a cold fall day when all the greenery outside was gone...To see more of my fiber art visit my art gallery, there is category for "floral" if you want to see just flowers.
Snow... Snow... Snowmen
There is a big storm coming the coast. They are predicting well over a foot of snow in my area! Even though I hired someone to help with the snow after my surgery, there is always stuff to do - clearing the car, moving the snow piled up by the snow plow, cleaning up after the hired help leaves... I am pretty worried how my back will hold out!
Trying to keep positive I decided to post some fun things about the snow -- a couple of my artwork featuring snowmen!

White Christmas
A day before Christmas we had our first real snow. Lovely snowflakes made me grab my camera and go for a walk in the yard. It was the first time after the surgery that I was able to hold the camera without any pain in my back - so it was joyful in more than one way! These snow flakes and shadows are my contributions to Shadow Sunday.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Lights
My back healed enough after surgery to be able to carry around and lift my camera! It was a joy to go out while the first snow was falling to take some photos! I loved the fresh snow covering Christmas Lights - lovely reflection of the glow on the snow! Fore more flections visit Weekend Reflections

Christmas Cookies
Today around 6 o'clock in the evening my door bell rings. It takes me for ever to get down the stairs (my knees hurt in addition to the back making me a bit stiff descending). When I finally opened the door I did not see anyone. Then a voice in the distance said "Ah, here you are..." A woman and a small girl who gave up waiting for me and were leaving came back. It was a neighbor who I barely know (just enough to wave when we pass each other on the street) came by to give me Christmas cookies she and her daughter just baked. Those were the most delicious Christmas cookies I ever had! How very nice!
And now my skywatch photo. These fluffy clouds are flying over Boston Harbor. I am on a ferry crossing paths with a good looking sale boat.

Snow shadows by Quiltworks
There is a big snow storm moving up the coast. One minute they tell us we are going to get over a foot of snow, another minute that the storm might miss us. What will happen? I guess we will have to wait and see! Today's shadow shot for Shadow Sunday comes from my back yard. It was taken just after a huge snow storm last year and I liked the shadows turn the snow into so many different colors!
Nature's close ups by Quiltworks

The second close-up is my fiber artwork study of a twig. I exaggerated the veins in the leaves to show off their intricate structure. To see more of my fiber art visit my art gallery, there is category for "floral" if you want to see just flowers.

The Social Network
This weekend I saw "The Social Network". It was an interesting and revealing movie. I did not realize Facebook happened by accident. And the attitude those kids had towards women is pretty unpleasant.
Interesting how unsympathetically Zuckerberg is portrayed in the movie. And the movie left me curious what happened to Eduardo Saverin. I did a bit of research when I got home some things became more clear. The main source for the Ben Mezrich’s book, Accidental Billionaire, on which the movie is based was Eduardo. This kind of helps understand the perspective from which the story was told. And don’t feel bad for Eduardo, he sued Zuckerberg and Facebook in April 2005 and won 7% ownership, which is roughly valued at 1.15 billion dollars.

Lots of flowers
I found these tiny little flowers during the walk in the woods - they were so fresh and delicate!

The second flower of the day is my fiber art Black Eyed Susans. Care free, bobbing their heads in the wind, I thought this artwork captured a wonderful feel of summer!

We had our first snow flakes
We had our first snow flakes last night. They did not stick around but made the upcoming winter more real. Since I just had my back surgery, the prospect of snow and having to clear it scares me... The memory of snow let me dig into my last winter photos... Today's shadow shot for Shadow Sunday comes from my back yard. It was taken just after a huge snow storm and I liked the shadows turn the snow into so many different colors!

Mysterious Flower by Quiltworks
Anyone knows what this flower is? I took its picture at the flower show. I thought the middle looked like three little penguins :)

Rockport Mass
Today's shadow shot for Shadow Sunday comes from Rockport. I like the rustic look of the weathered pot and chair, the shadows of the barn behind it.
