We had our first snow flakes

We had our first snow flakes last night.  They did not stick around but made the upcoming winter more real.  Since I just had my back surgery, the prospect of snow and having to clear it scares me...  The memory of snow let me dig into my last winter photos... Today's shadow shot for Shadow Sunday comes from my back yard.  It was taken just after a huge snow storm and I liked the shadows turn the snow into so many different colors!

The grasses are brown, but their height above the snow indicates a fight against the winter. Stubborn and resilient they are against the cold - although as I age, I am less so. Yet, without winter, we could not truly appreciate the warmth of spring when it arrives...we just have to live though the cold and snow!

Hehe! I think you and I were on the same wave length photo-wise this week. :)

All the best with your healing!

Beautiful shadow shot, I like the bluish tones. It will be a problem for you to dig it, if it gets more serious.

It is snowing by us too today and I have some roses covered by snow, special order from you.

A lovely shot indeed, so like a beach shot just all in virginal white.

How about getting someone else to shovel the snow until your back is mended?

I wish you all the best.
