Cat portrait and Beach scene by Quiltworks

beach scene by quiltworks
When I saw this image it captured the essence of summer for me .  These are lovely sand dunes on the beaches of Cape Cod.  The picket fences keeps the dunes from eroding and are typical for  a New England beach.  And of course, people find other uses for them! It created interesting shadows so I am making it my contributions to Shadow Shots .  This pretty scene is also my entry to  "Scenic shots"!

Siamese cat by quiltworks
For Camera Critters my contribution is a photo of my fiber art portrait of a Siamese cat.  I love the intensity in the kitty's eyes so when I was making the portrait on concentrated on that feature.  When making the portrait I first sketch on paper, then transfer my drawing on fabric and complete with fabric and silk thread.

Such detail. Love the cat. Have you seen the work of Nadine in Plodv Bulgaria? I love both of your work. Can appreciate all of the attention to detail. I'm a big picture person... think it up...... pass it on.

Right now I want to be on that beach!

Love your Cape Cod Shadow Shot. It does totaly capture the essence of summer, yet evokes questions. Is the owner of these slippers splashing in the water or laying on the beach somewhere with his love? Hmmmm. Happy SSS to you!

Love that white sand and what a terrific shadow shot for the day. And, yes, it does invoke questions! Hope you have a great weekend!

The storm fence is a useful tool - for erosion or storage purposes, too. We haven't been able to make the Cape for a few years, so this lovely scene will have to make do :>)

You have captured the mysterious eyes of a cat, seeming to be a pretty sight while they bore into our souls with the same eyes - as allow us to be adopted by them. Beautiful art!

I was diverted from the excellent shadow shot by your superb thread picture - even though I really don't like cats!!!

Love the blue eyes on the cat. The beach scene is just as I imagine east coast beaches, so unlike our western beaches.

I've never been to Cape Cod but somehow the beach images are so unique that I recognize it (from watching tv movies). It is beautiful and the windswept grasses and sand dunes make me want to spend some serious time on the beach. Your photo captured the carefree days of summer oh so well :-)
