Ruby Flower - fiber art quilt by Quiltworks

These lovely ruby flowers  are my contribution to Ruby Tuesday and My World.  This is a fiber art work I created. It may look like a painting, it is made entired out of thread and fabric.  I start with a drawing and then use thread and fabric is my color pallette.  When the image is completed, I finish the entire piece as a mini quilt complete with batting, backing and mitered corners for binding.  It is a time consuming process, but I trully love it and find it very relaxing.  It is a great way to unwind from stresses of the day!

Love your threaded flowers. Long, long ago, I did some needlework in which I "painted" my own scenes. You have a wonderful talent - I was never good at the precision of it all.

I cannot believe you find this intricate work "relaxing"!! But I'm glad you do, and that you are sharing it.

Oh how beautiful! I love threadplay and you are very talented at it. I have taken a class at the Quilt Festival in Houston but have not had much time to practice. Thanks for sharing your talent with us! Pamie G.
