Red Roses art quilt runner - fiber art by Quiltworks

art quilt by quiltworksart quilt by quiltworks
I started quilting as a traditional quilter making bed quilts and table runners, as my desire for creating original designs that look more like painting grew my style changed.  I began working in smaller formats - wall hangings and art cards.  Recently I came across a  few old photo showing red flower runners.  These were one of the last large pieces I have made.  The general theme the customer requested was red flowers, and the size of each runner was over 3 feet long.  The photo on the left is full view of one of the runners, the photo on top a close up.  The two photos below were sent to me by the customer showing how she displayed them on top of her dressers.

I'm fascinated by people who can create a wonderful art by quilting. And a lot envious too.

Have a great week. My entry is over at http://ewok1993.wordpress.com
