American Coot - bird photo by Quiltworks

This is a photo of American Coot from a trip to Florida.  Coots live in wetlands. They usually nest over water, often building numerous nests and using only one. They are quite territorial and noisy.
This photo is my entry to "Round Robin Challenge: Look Up/Look Down"

You are looking down at the coot and the coot is looking up at you! That's an "all in one" deal! Great!

Hi :)

Lovely Coot! We have some in Golden Gate Park, and I always love to stop and watch and photograph them. Hon, one thing, we love your enthusiasm for the challenge, but we ask that you wait until the day of the challenge to post your entry. I feel bad that you posted your entry so early, and no one is coming by until now. Oh well, we are here now and I love the Coot!

Ah, coots! I love coots. We have them here in Tucson as well, in the parks that have manmade ponds. Nice shot from above!
