I am participating in Shadow Shot Sunday, where people share photographic images that feature shadows. I am lucky enough to live a very beautiful New England. 100 miles in each direction one can find a large variety of points of interest: an ocean to the east, mountains to west and north, lakes all around... Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Vermont are all within a 100 mile ride. This week's contribution is a view the Pemaquid lighthouse in Maine. I scouted the location during the day light and then stood there for many hours until sunset guarding my spot, as there was only one puddle and one spot next to the puddle where you could get this perfect reflection. I knew someone else would take the spot if I left and I would not get my shot!
I also love contributing to camera critters. Today my selection is Hopper when she was a kitten. She loved tight places, and found this cookie jar (or should it be called a kitty jar?) irresistable.

The shadows beneath the lighthouse on the rocks are eerie, maybe even threatening looking. That is, until the lifesaving light descends upon the rocky coastline and eliminates the dark shadows. The picture seems as the coast in Downeast maine. Rugged and beautiful the NE coast is!
picture perfect!!!
i am glad you stopped by my site...love the touch up on the little man in the post before this one.
Exquisite! It looks like a moonlit night.
Lovely lighthouse and a lovely reflection! Great shot for the day!

I bet Hopper won't fit in the cookie jar these days! Very cute :D
Nikki-ann, Ha ha. You gave me an idea, I should take Hopper's picture next to that jar again. That would make a fun comparison :-)
They have a sixth sense for the most photogenic places! How can you not love cats?
The first photo is stunning but the second wins the prize for cuteness.

Wow, your shadow shot is beautiful ... a place I would love to visit.
WOW What a shot! I love that lighthouse! lol It's funny I just suggested a lighthouse and now I see this! Reading in Google reader so I'm reading newest to oldest! lol
That kitty is sweet!
I love the lighthouse and its reflection and the lovely bluey/greys... Cats seem to have a penchant for sitting inside small containers - it's one of the things that makes them so adorable :)
And thank you so much for all your kind comments - they're so encouraging :)
